The perfect extension for your accuracy requirements

Measured values from coordinate measuring machines depend greatly on how well the stylus system reacts and reads the surface properties. The sensors contact to the workpiece is provided through the styli, extensions and the adapter plate. Therefore, as part of the overall probe system, extensions have a significant influence on measuring uncertainty.

For touch trigger sensors - such as the M2 and M3 systems - the extensions are still typically made of metal, as these materials have little effect on the measurement uncertainty compared to scanning technology.

For tactile scanning sensors, ZEISS REACH CFX® carbon fiber extensions offer benefits in every aspect, whether they are entry level or designed for maximum precision. Titanium and aluminum are older technologies and not recommended for CMMs. ZEISS REACH CFX® carbon fiber extensions are not only light and thermally stable in length, but also resistant to bending and torsion errors. This reduces deviations by up to five times and prevents expensive measurement errors due to inaccurate measuring results.

REACH CFX® for your accuracy requirements

Three versions of the ZEISS REACH extensions are available for budget and accuracy requirements. The price of CFX® 1 is comparable with titanium or aluminum extensions, but performs significantly better than these metals in terms of precision. CFX® 3 has a significantly higher accuracy compared to the CFX 1 extensions. ZEISS REACH CFX® 5 offers the highest precision and technical attributes. This quality is unsurpassed on the market. ZEISS REACH CFX® 1 for: ZEISS SPECTRUM, ZEISS CONTURA and comparable CMMs.

ZEISS REACH CFX® 3 for: ZEISS PRISMO, ZEISS PRISMO fortis, ZEISS ACCURA and similar CMMs.

ZEISS REACH CFX® 5 for: ZEISS PRISMO verity, ZEISS PRISMO ultra, ZEISS MICURA, ZEISS XENOS.
